LOCK LOVE WEDNESDAY

Lock Love Wednesday is here again Ladies!
I've got a few photos of myself and some other fun easy styles I did on others that's easy to do on your own.

Christy helped me perfect my sock bun...with no sock! (I've got plenty of hair)
And this is my day off! After my work out, but I love my bangs when my hair is in a pony!

Every so often I head up to the Aveda Retail Center at the Mall of America and do some quick consultations and little styles. Almost every single woman that sat in that chair had NO IDEA what to do different with their hair. So, here are a few things I showed them.

This last one, She was looking for some new updo's that are more professional but easy with her long hair. All I did was pinned her hair half up, putting the bobby pins into the twist so you can't see them. Once that was up, I took her long hair and rolled it up. Pinned it from the inside and sprayed with with Aveda Air Control. She said it was exactly what she was looking for. My job was complete.

Keep showing me some fun things you do with your hair? or find some pictures so I can tell ya how to DIY!

Gent swag

Alright boys, Its time to spruce up your look a little. Stop walking in to cost cutters and telling them what guard clippers to use... STOP IT!! It's time for a quality haircut!!

Here are a few idea's on what to do... It doesnt need to be a huge difference but, CHANGE IS GOOD!! :)

And my personal favorite, my friend Matt. There are a lot of different things you can do with this cut and Matt and I mutually agreed that this way was our favorite!! He does use a lot of the Mens pomade and control force hairspray to give it that perfect, shiny look.

Alright guys, I hope this gives you some good inspiration! Now, make and appointment with me to spruce it up at Progressions Salon. 952-851-9999

Party Planner

Planning for Hudson's birthday is in full swing! It has been for a good month now- and his birthday isn't until April. I guess it likes to consume me since I used to be an event coordinator.

Vinatge Carnival is what we are going for. Menu, decorations, and games are all planned out. I will have a few fun projects to share with you. As for now, photobooth props are the project that has been worked on. As soon as I find the perfect scrapbooking paper, there will be more to come!

I have found some amazing graphic designs on Etsy- I know that will be the icing on the cake.

Stay tuned for some first birthday fun!

Valentine's Punch

I had meant to share this BEFORE I went on vacation, but my timing doesn't always work out. Just like the Christmas posts I took pictures for, and then never wrote. Thumbs up for me.

I had a fun evening a couple weeks ago with a friend. She introduced me to this delicous punch mixture. We had individual servings of it. A few nights later, we had a girls night at church with a Valentine's theme and so I thought making this punch with a couple adjustments would be a fun addition.

There are only 4 ingredients:
-Pink Lemonade
-Sprite
-Raspberry Sherbet
- Frozen Raspberries

I bought these silicone trays at Target. I had been eyeing them up for a while and had to get them.

I made pink lemoande ice cubes with them and added raspberries. I heated the frozen raspberries and mashed them. Then added them to the pink lemonade.

Froze them until they were solid, and had this cute addition

Just mix the ingredients of the punch, and add the heart ice cubes to the top.

Festive and outta-control delicious. Happy Belated V-Day!

Fly Baby, Fly

First off, I just want to say "THANK YOU!" for your prayers regarding Hudson's "scratch". It's slowly been healing and today looks nothing more than a scar! I will take the scar any day over a problem, and also as a reminder of God's faithfulness! You can't even feelthe "scratch" anymore! It hung around for about 6 weeks. No matter how big or small, I believe in God's healing power and that my little boy was healed- regardless of this being something serious or just a reaction. Thank you for coming together in prayer with me, believing with me, and now rejoicing with me. God is good! I will be CANCELLING HIS APPOINTMENT! If you are confused as what I am referring to, you can read my first post Here.

----------------------------------------------------

We did it! We survived flying with our 10 month old! Oh what you consider a victory as a parent.

He was amazing. So well behaved. We couldn't believe it!

I remember as a teenager, getting on my mom's case about talking to babies everywhere. I would get irritated and would always tell her my opinion about how I think she should leave them alone and that the parents think she is strange.

Then I had a baby.

I love when people come talk to him. He soaks it up. Big smiles. He points, smiles, and laughs. A nice gentleman sitting behind us kept him well entertained on one of our flights just by saying "hi" and smiling. I would make a bold statement and say, most parents love having their children adored on. (Just don't pass any boundaries or touch them!)

Lots of snacks, books, and apps helped with the one flight he was awake. The rest of the time he slept. Oh did he sleep! It was so wonderful.

Between fights we would find an open area so he could roam freely and burn excess energy

I feel adventerous enough to say I would be willing to fly with him again at this young age!

The trip was so beautiful. Pure mountains covered in snow between Colorado and Arizona.

LOCK LOVE WEDNESDAY

I'm joining in LOCK LOVE WEDNESDAY with my girl Christy! Just trying to be creative and motivated with my hair and taking snapshots on the cellular to share with you! Even a stylist gets in a rut when it comes to hair!

First off, a couple weeks ago i took the plunge! Heres my before...

And about 5 1/2 hours, 2 pravanas (color remover), 3 bleach washes, a full foil and an all over color and a nice haircut... Here is the after!

I guess a nice big change helps with styling your hair again! Get ya out of that rut!

Here we are curled with a 1" curling iron and I took about 2-3" sections so it wouldn't look like a fro. Sprayed it before and after with Aveda's Air control and once it cooled off, fingered through it. voila!

I wash my hair about every 3 days so, the curls were a good two days!

Sorry that its hard to see but, this one I divided my hair into 3 parts horizontally. clipped up the top part and the bottom part and french braided the middle sides, both into the middle and bobby pinned my ends into a bun. The bottom part (which you cant see) I french braided up, than into a bun once I ran into the middle sections. The top, I gave a little teasing to and just put that into a bun, right above the middle section. pinned my bangs back with a heart bobby pin for V-day and a little Air control.

Heres what the back kind of looked like. ( I'm an idiot when it comes to taking pics of the back of my head ha)

Honestly, it only took me 5 minutes. If you know how to french braid, it's just a little practice being able to french the side of your head. The bottom, I tipped my head upside down and that helped braid! Super easy and cute for valentines day!

Next day I washed my hair and wore it half up (sorry no picture of that) and so the next day it made it super easy to redo the half up look and throw the rest of my hair into a messy bun. It only took 1 minute and about a dozen compliments.

How have you been wearing your hair?? Join me and take weekly snaps of your hair and share how you put it up!
